Manufacturer: Robinson
Description: Frank Robinson founded the Robinson Helicopter Company in June, 1973 to design and manufacture a lightweight, inexpensive helicopter for the general aviation market. The result was the two-seat R22. The first prototype flew in August of 1975, and the first production model was delivered in October of 1979. Thus far Robinson Helicopter has delivered more than 3800 R22s.
